More or less. If Trump proved one thing it's that a significant portion of voters just don't care about total and blatant corruption. You can be totally open about how corrupt you are and most people just don't care.

biggest gotcha is the "ur gonna be able to keep your doctor" on Obama. and the people constantly talking about it were never even on Obamacare, and are just virtue signaling on behalf of others.

Obama was no top tier potus, in the lens of history likely bottom middle tier, but his lies aren't even a fucking fraction of the utter horseshit Trump spewed. The media was unfair to trump at insane levels, but he was still an utterly inept person in office through and through.

But that's due to a large or at least significant extent because Trump has a cult of personality around him and right-wing media has been discrediting non-right-wing institutions for decades. I don't think it's an American voters thing, it's a right-wing voters thing.

i mean let's be honest he'll NEVER be top tier, that's Lincoln, Washington, Jefferson, territory. Largely inaccessible to modern day presidents because progress is too gridlocked.

And he'll never be bottom tier, because that's relegated to presidents leading up to the Civil war, scandal ridden presidents like Nixon, and completely flaccid presidents like Jimmy carter.

I'm not trying to argue for the historians, but healthcare reform was a big deal historically, he passed a stimulus bill that helped recover the economy, he's the first black president, etc etc. Right now he's ranked pretty high and the way things are going in America, him and Biden might be the last normal presidents we have.
