Not at all. It wasn't an argument that "the experts are right," it was an argument that "95% of experts believe." It's totally an argumentum ad populum.
In this particular case, it's a combination of ad populum and appealing to authority.
I am not for a moment claiming they're incorrect because I don't believe that to be the case, but in the field of logic, his argument is flawed, correct or not.
