Do you think if trump or equal said they would be listen and negotiate on the concern of police finding etc the riots and protests. Would stop? I think he could even do his typical nonsense lie bait and switch and he could get this to stop... if he even lies in good faith (wtf did I just say) but yea this isn’t hard to resolve in my mind if you had 2 oz of political savvy

negotiating with a small pack of ranchers, all in one building, who have already filed specific grievances, and had a specific list of wants is one thing. that was the Bundys, and even then they basically just got a day in court, not access to the lands they wanted iirc.

negotiating with hundreds of thousands of people in 50 different states with similar but not unified goals, wants, etc? wew, even that's too big of a lie for Trump.

BLM in one city wants cameras on cops, another they want 120 credit cops, another they want no cops at all, etc. there is no national lead, no unified front to negotiate with. unless i misunderstand the question.

no you don't misunderstand. I just think having the discussion(s) you just laid out, even if he had zero interest in following through, would help settle the peace. It also help him in the polls if the BS in these cities calmed down.
If the WH could just act like they are willing to listen to the other side it would have a huge positive impact. But he is SO R base orientated it will get worse before it gets betting IMO. Again 2 oz of political savvy could calm this down 80-90%
But he just cant do it. Another reason I feel like he cannot do the job.
