I think you have the order of operations wrong.

The person exists on the land that the country owns. THEN they pay taxes. Anyone who doesn't exist there or use services there doesn't pay taxes.

A group of people calling themselves government doesn't own all of the land nor do they rightfully claim ownership of any amount of income they want.

I have exactly as much chance of negotiating my rent as I do negotiating my tax.

that depends on the cost or item. u cant sell a car without paying tax, or items over a certain amount.

how many people live in America right now entirely tax free? even one?

how many people life rent free? tens of millions. and no im not counting kids.

So don't have a car or items with titles. That doesn't really matter that you have to stay under a certain amount. Hell, you could also just move to Delaware where there is no sales tax.

"You can avoid it" doesn't really support it not being theft in the first place though, since, as Cam would say, I can avoid being mugged too.

but u have a far better chance to find a cheaper place than you do to find a country that will accept you and uproot your entire life. shitty apartments are everywhere. and u could move in with friends/family in an emergency, what country is tax free? Somalia?

Like I said, whether you can avoid it or not doesn't really factor into whether it's theft. I can avoid being mugged, and I can go out of my way to get robbed.

Just because nobody has taken the option doesn't mean it doesn't exist (actually the Amish don't pay taxes where I live, except sales tax on purchased goods, which falls under the "you knew when you bought it" clause you yourself argued established consent, but still, they could just not buy items to voluntarily avoid taxes).

Does it matter if it's easy? I'd say not.

Theft is the unlawful acquisition, by malicious application, of value.

So a nation inhabits a territory. Would it be fair to say that a nation owns the territory it occupies?

I live in a shitty apartment already. While it isn't the case, it could theoretically be the case that my family lives far away (roommate), or does not have the financial capabilities to take me on as an additional boarder (the people upstairs from me, who are packing like 6 people into 2 rooms), or are dead (the case of my coworker).

If I wanted to find cheaper rent, I'd have to uproot my entire life.
