What difference does it make, prices go up, mommy just sends you more dollars so you can pursue your career in bitching on the internet and making coffee.

If you make over 75k and don't enough money saved up for at least 6 months of living expenses. Your own fault and been living above your means.

Now if you make 40k and live paycheck to paycheck that's different.

Saving is living below your means.
Living above your means would be going into debt.
No debt, low savings is living within your means.
Its like you completely ignore the fact that different places have different expenses.
You move to new york and try to save money on $75,000.

I'm not ignoring expenses differ? If you make 75k anywhere and going in to the negatives each month you need to rethink what your doing wrong. It's part of being an adult. I'm an adult so I wouldn't move to New York making 75k?

The vast majority of people do not have 37 thousand dollars sitting in a bank account, that does not mean they are "living above their means".
I am awesome at saving money and i have less than than sitting in my bank right now.

First off when I say 6 months of expenses I mean paying your rent/mortgage and other bills.

Second off if you make 75k and 37k is your 6 month expenses you are doing it wrong... and no wonder why people don't have savings. So yes if your not saving money month to month you are 100% living above your means.
