Perhaps it's a result of my own confirmation bias, but I still can't get over the fact of how wildly accepted and celebrated posts that denigrate one of our community members based on their identity is.

Do my fellow left-wing posters do this to our right-wing posters and I'm just unaware of it?

Well, Scaly/Transtankie/Viv is acting like a complete caricature, so zhe should not really be surprised to get ridiculed over it.

Except again you guys always speak about socialism and communism as if they are the same thing, which they are not.
And you confuse social democracy which is what literally 99% of the western leftists advocate with fake socialism enacted by south american dictators.

I wouldnt say 99% of them. I think a fair share of them secretly dream of actual socialism and just want to take things slow. To name just one example, think of the debate about medicare for all and ending private healthcare in the US. Such a policy would be bordering real hard on true socialism if you ask me.

I also wouldnt call the socialism enacted by south american dictators fake just because it isnt working. ;)
But props for distinguishing between true socialism and social democracy!

So, then why do virtually all attempts at implementing socialism end with an authoritarian regime and a dictator in charge? ^_^

Because socialism is a theory. Dictatorship is a practice.

Marx was a hopeless romantic so its natural that his predictions are wrong.

I have a theory that its because the people who attempt it end up dying or being overthrown before they can see it to completion, the next generation just see power up for grabs and take it.

You’ve obviously never read Marx.

What is happening is exactly as he predicted it. Capitalism and authoritarianism are a necessary step in the economic development of a socialist system. The dictatorship of the proletariat comes about when the workers assume control of the profits generated from their own labor in the systems they developed for the former capitalist dictatorship. And it doesn’t end there. Eventually the worker dictatorship will also end in a non-hierarchical system of voluntary cooperation. That’s exactly the system libertarians pretend to support.

This is all orthodox Marxism, bud.

Karx Marx said that the second law of thermodynamics would destroy all government and reduce us to anarchy. Its about three extra chromosomes worth of derp.

Sorry to ruin your socialism porn.

Plebs (proltarifags) care too much about pleasure and comfort to stand for any of their lopsided beliefs. If they could make wealth on their own they would, but they can't.

And the bolded part is where things fall apart, time and time and time again. Once a representative of the workers becomes the official dictator, there is a gigantic incentive for him and his cronies to hold on to their power instead of letting the dictatorship fizzle out into a system of voluntary cooperation where he would be one among many.

It is simply something deeply embedded in human nature that we strive for power, luxury and privilege, that we strive to be on top of the social hierarchy surrounding us.
The aforementioned step from the necessary post-revolution dictatorship towards TrueSocialism™ runs completely against human nature and hence fails all the time.
