Different office, different standards.

The president is a 4 or 8-year elections based on public opinion. They should be more susceptible to public opinion and willing to change their mind.

A supreme court justice should have a steadfast method for making rulings and only make exceptions where absolutely necessary. They're also not voted in by the public and are a lifetime appointment so consistency is king here more than any other positions.

Then again, if you had thought about it for like two seconds you would know this.
