Widow's been calling for mass boots on the ground and a Japan style occupation in the fallout for years now.
I still believe that plan is fruitless without a coalition of Muslim forces on the ground besides us (USA + Europe presumably), but i won't lie and say Widow's plan isn't growing on me. For no other reason than we cannot actually take out individual groups with just cultural changes like correcting marginalization of EU Muslims. I don't think we can ever totally eliminate radical Islam, but i do think it's important to destroy ISIS specifically, if that makes sense. Like i said though, the war is just as much about ideologies as bullets. And i think we need to scale down bombings and drone attacks, we need a full sweep with overwhelming force. It will actually save lives over the satellite guided drone war and bombing raids that seem to be Obama's preference. Ironic that a "muslim" president prioritizes US lives over Syrian ones.
