The thing with 9/11 is it's influence on world politics, global economy and the difference not in number of casualties, but rather that the center of the 'civilized world' was hit and destroyed. Things like the Rwandan genocide or the Nanking massacre might have more victims, but certainly have less influence on our views today.

Agreed. But, I'd argue we're not the most civilized, although we do have the biggest military.

The victims of 9/11 were martyrs to the name of capitalism.

Then you don't visit the topics I create do you? I make topics about the injustice that man deals out all over the globe not just in my country, thanks for the stab in the dark.

We'd definitely be in trouble if any US city were the 'center of the civilised world'.
