...has a Democrat like Hillary who has previously lost a Presidential primary or the general election for President ever gone on to get the nomination again . I'm trying to think of one in my lifetime but can not remember a single time it has happened ? Ah well , I just woke up and put the coffee on ...maybe it will come to me when I wake up a little .

Except that the comparison wasn't a false equivalence whatsoever. Both Clinton and Powell engaged in the same practice, albeit Powell's correspondence was even less secure. Clinton and Bush (and the others mentioned engaged in the same practice, too.

We can't just pretend that this isn't the case simply because that'd be convenient for you.

I didn't call it falsely equivalent. I'm making fun of you for absolutely every other time that you do call things that, hypocrite.

...the newest estimate is that over 300 of Hillary's e-mails contained classified information which seems to fly in the face of her comment " I know what classified information is " . I hope this doesn't lead to another " that depends on what the definition of " is " is " argument a la Bill Clinton when he was trying to dodge perjury charges .

I really doubt it'll change anything even if they all had classified info.

...That's not even remotely the case. It's fine if you yourself want to remain hilariously uninformed but you really should do other people a favor and stop spouting bullshit that's plainly untrue. A number of emails submitted by Clinton were earmarked for consideration by the same intelligence team to determine whether or not they contained classified information. That clearly is not at all the same thing as determining that they did. Though if this sampling comes back looking like the last one, where something was retroactively classified, then we're still in the exact same boat as before. Either way it can't just magically be a Clinton issue.

Adlai Stevenson won the Democratic primary in 1952 and lost the open race to Dwight Eisenhower when he chose to run as a Republican. Stevenson won the Democratic nomination again in 1956 when Eisenhower ran for and won reelection. There's not much of a baseline for retreads in modern Democratic presidential politics. The Republicans have been the party to regularly turn to the retread who lost the preceding nomination. If he doesn't run then they pick a legacy.

Well thanks for the laugh and all, but we can't just completely ignore context in every situation just because that'll help you advance some ham-fisted criticism.

Highly agree with this.

Trump makes a good character but I doubt he'll get anywhere with the primaries.

I tend to think that once you go at it and fail, you should just not do it again.

But some people run over and over and over.

I criticized Ted Strickland for running for Senate after losing the governership to the wrong person though

One of our own, P.G. Sittenfeld, is running against him in the primary. He is enormously popular here in Cincinnati as a city councilman but the political establishment is like "woah kid, back down, it is Strickland, get out of the way". I reiterated my opinion above in the conversation and received scowls. He is still challenging him in a primary AFAIK.
