Buying multiple scryscrapers that your family personally owns with money that was given to your government =/= looking out for the best interests of your citizens

His rule generated all that wealth, for the citizens too. It was literally his government and policies

And helps real people too, Marcos is extremely generous. My girlfriend knows alot of people

Imelda Marcos and her husband Ferdinand Marcos Sr. hold the Guinness World Record for the "greatest robbery of a government."

But..... I'm sure they are lovely, selfless people who put their citizens first.

I'd be retired on that tax rate at this point. For comparison last year I did:

343K gross employment income. The result was 111K federal and provincial tax withheld, 3,867.50 in CPP, 188 in a second tranche of CPP, 1049.12 in EI

Some tax was recuperated via contributions to certain registered investment accounts but most of that was offset by investment income making the recovery only 6K. So total to the gov't last year around 110K.

Wife did about 1/3 less. But between the two of us we coughed up close to 180K+ in tax.

Now my time-off and other benefits are far in excess of that 20-25 days off. I get that plus 18 Christmas shut-down days that I pop in on for no more than an hour or two here or there to make sure certain filings go through, given a vehicle among other things.

I should say I have no problem paying that tax, except currently I am not inline with how our government has been spending it through the years and think we need a complete revamp of our social security safety nets, among many other programs.

Northern Canada. There's significantly more to be made if you want it in underdeveloped areas of Canada. I'm not willing to walk those gray areas and put far more importance on the life in work life balance but its out there.

Think of the significant amount of contribution and grant money that federal, provincial and other bodies administer, now consider the amount of Community Governments, Reserves, Municipalities and Hamlets that don't have the financial capacity to write proposals and acquire such funding, nor have the financial capacity to provide year-end reports to those funders to get any holdback amounts.

There's many, lets say entrepreneurial people out there who thrive on areas that have minimal capacity by charging a % of funding obtained amount. Which I wont partake in, on one hand you're helping communities obtain money they otherwise would not have, but at the same time, all the communities are the same and you're just taking off a % of their funding and changing the name on the next application to a new communities name. I find it parasitic.

But there's much more than that available, there's also significant proposal work , writing and a good consultation rate. Monthly retainers just to provide xyz town, reserve, community with capacity. There's always work to be had in underdeveloped areas in Canada since Canada has funding pots of money available, especially to indigenous groups. If you can provide a worth-while service you can write your own cheque.

I'm not sure the point of this post, I think its obvious to everybody that America is doing better in the past 5 months then it has been in the past 5 years. Its comforting seeing hypocrisy being called out, corruption being attacked and reformed and the safety of the country being prioritized. The only people upset are the people that are scared and worried that their bad deeds are coming to finally bite them in the ass. The economy is safe, the education system is safe and the people will be safe from the years of tyranny and corruption from the passed administration.

I am not American, I do not live in America. However watching America the past few years has not only been sicken but scary. I and many others are glad they have changed and are making huge improvements.

Men being charged for helping people from a psycho attacker on a subway. Disgusting
Women being forced to change in front of mentally disturbed men. Disgusting.
Children being groomed from their teachers and not giving the parents the right to know what their teachers are doing to their children. Disgusting.

I want to be clear I don't have a problem with gays or transgender, in fact I stand by many gay advocates to who are ashamed how these activist are using them as a way to push their agenda, but you WILL stay away from the youth. And finally this administration has drawn the line.
America is healing, and is on its way to being great again.

If you are confused on what is happening in the United States it simply means you are to uneducated to see the bigger picture.

I'm proud of my American brothers and sisters. We stand united. We are here. We are watching. We are supporting and we are praying for you.

Anyways have a great day everybody!

The Filipino people who lived and prospered under his government. You are aware that Marcos' son is the current duly elected leader of the Phillipines?

Anti-Marcos folks are communist rat murderers, funded by every communist regime around and the old regime democrat party rats. And you lap up their propaganda like a good goy

My employer is a global player and my team is working with a number of different nations spread over almost all continents.
Everyone - including our American friends are completely dumbfunded on what's going on in the former land of the free.
Basically the US is the punchline of every joke and while satire writes itself these days I have to pinch myself to remind me that this isn't a trash TV show that's unfolding beneath our very eyes.

So my question here is:

How do Muricans cope with this?
And I don't just mean the ones who are educated enough to realize the Coup that's going on. Everyone should gimme a chance to understand how you can live another day with such an embarressing shit show taking place each and every day.

Outsiders figured that Democrats have it easy now gaining ground - but they seem to be in awe at the level of corruption taking place now that they never achieved.

While there is some gloating hovering around it's mainly concern that I pick up when we talk about it.
My condolences to you all

it post covid kookery so thats one thing to be optimistic about
the people that harassed everyone with covid kookery has been voted out so thats another optimistic.
so ya coping is easy
