I can say this much…5 years ago my grocery bill was 1/3rd of what it is now. Ask me if I care more about trans rights,Ukraine or feeding my own children? Go ahead ask me.
The trick is to buy even cheaper and learn what expensive spices and herbs you need to obtain to neutralize the toxins in said cheaper food while also increasing flavor.
herbs and spices, though 3X more expensive aswell , still yield all of the untapped nutrients and pro health polyphenols that most are missing out on.
that means
a membership club to a food supplier and learning how things like turmeric, clove, keylime, and hotpeppers or hot spices are your friend. its a bit more upfront cost, but can last a decade+ because clove for ex will prevent microbes from eating the lining of the bag its in. clove in pasta/water will prevent mold growth in your leftovers or if it sits out.
in general: {a healing root, a cleansing spice. a raw vitamin C fruit and a metabolism or anti germ booster(hot organic foods) is good concepting.
dont fall into
the trap of low or slow cooking your food with new aged teflon garbo. get as much fire and real heat into it and eat warm. all you need to do is garnish with fresh citrus and a few raw greens and youll be eating better with a much cheaper bill.
unfortunately most are afraid of food and they pay a greater price for not being afraid of eating franken fastfood inventions. This post was edited by lodd222 on Jan 21 2025 04:45pm
