I will have to read up on the Wellstone foundation, not familiar with them but I imagine I will be disgusted by it.

Stephen Colbert becoming what he has was really sad to watch, he used to be so entertaining IMO. Bloodthirsty is probably the best word to describe his personality now.

the cliffs notes is, Wellstone was a populist progressive who represented rural farmers and blue collar workers and their interests with a grassroots campaign that won against the odds, then he died in a plane crash. Before the bodies were cold the democrats took the memorial service for him and used it as a stump speech platform to get out the vote in the next election, and governor Ventura walked out in disgust and it became a major embarrassment for the dems. As they completely suppressed their blue collar and farmer voters in the years since, Wellstone's surviving sons tried to use his foundation to represent their interests, but the democrats took it over, kicked the Wellstones out of their own foundation and tried to use it to push identity politics, race and gender grievances and other neoliberal garbage, eventually shuttering the whole thing

Well guess I was right, I am indeed disgusted by it!
