We need to look at it holistically. What incentives are we realistically creating by waiving half a trillion in student debt? It would be an enormous boon to the educational establishment that's largely responsible for the ills you just highlighted.

College graduates tend to be high earners. It makes no sense, outside of clearly pandering to that demographic, to waive half a trillion in debt. I feel bad for the poor trade kid who passed on college to support his family. You're suggesting we pick his pocket to pay for a yuppie who can't control their Starbucks expenses.

for the record i dont support a 600bn$ relief program. they cast far too wide of a net, and should have drastically reduced income requirements and done more to reduce interest rates for a larger audience.

that said once the deferment deadline hits and spending decreased the economy will suffer. thats just reality.

Yeah because someone put a gun to their head and forced them to rack up dept.

just for the record i wont bother responding to you, in case that affects your desire to quote me.

pft, gtfo with your commie bullshit

You don't want to answer my sarcastic posts because it's true.

These people racked up dept on their own, nobody forced them. They should have to deal with the responsibility.

---
To all the Responsible adults who paid their dept off, they shouldn't have to suffer for someone else's lack of responsibility.

Why the fuck should anyone pay off their dept if they can just get bailed out.

This is punishing people who worked hard, and rewarding people who slacked off.

no, this is exactly on topic. we are talking about taking fiscal responsibility for your debts. based on this logic
