Worth noting that this is an explicit backtrack by Joe Biden, who vowed to resume funding for UNRWA when he took office, and did, after Donald Trump had stopped it in Q3 2018. Joe made it one of his campaign trail promises and restored it in Q2 2021 and canceled it again Q1 2024

Additional details of UNRWA employees that participated in Oct 7 terror attack:
One employee, a school counselor in Khan Yunis, kidnapped a women together with his son.
Another employee is a social worker that assisted in taking an IDF soldier’s body to Gaza.
The rest of the twelve employees which are now accused helped deliver weaponry, assisted in hiding hostages in their homes etc.
at least 10 of the twelve accused are active Hamas members which 7 of them are school teachers.

I wouldn't call it a backtrack from Biden. When he promised to restore UNRWA funding, he obviously didn't expect a situation where half a dozen members of a UN human relief body are credibly accused of being members of a terrorist group and participating in a barbaric and premeditated massacre of innocent civilians.

God knows I have no love lost for Biden and his inept policies, but we really can't fault him for not having anticipated THAT kind of development...
