He's not convincing anyone of anything and it's no conspiracy what he is doing it's a pretty basic model that I could name a large list of on the right and left. TYT is very similar in strategy and tactics on the left as they also have become caricatures
The soros vs koch conspiracy theories have gone on a long time for each side to get their base fired up but what is really happening is a bunch of individual profiteers serving massive doses of confirmation bias to political audiences. No grand conspiracies no endless supplies of cash to go against the right or left. Just a bunch of honey dickers picking out a certain audience and telling them exactly what they want to hear in exchange for memberships/donations/views
