its more a global geopolitical trend. We're seeing a reboot of the cold war, a spiraling sectarian sunni shiite war, increasingly stagnating and untenable economies in all the major powers and a looming energy crisis as oil dries up.
Thats a recipe that will probably add up to more domestic violence and more assassinations, but I'm more concerned about us being on a destabilizing path that could lead to more global war again, the kind that history would talk about us as being in an interlude of relative peacefulness
