Biden has previously claimed that the US is withdrawing from Afghanistan. I'll believe it when I see it.
https://i.imgur.com/qCD7rZD.pngFrom the Vice Presidential debate against Paul Ryan:
"In Afghanistan we've agreed on a gradual drawdown so we're out of there by the year 2014. My friend and the governor say its based on conditions which means it depends. It does NOT depend for us. We are leaving. We are leaving in 2014. PERIOD."A damning lie to win an election and maintain power.
In this case now he is extending the war/occupation several months beyond a previously agreed upon date so he can virtue signal about ending on the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Putting American troops in danger for symbolism. A pretty shitty thing to do.
Dragging his feet on withdrawal after 20 years and countless people killed in Afghanistan does not make him some great antiwar hero all of a sudden.
If he actually withdraws, that would be good and preferable to indefinite occupation, but does not excuse his long history of being complicit in immoral wars or your vehement support for war criminals while smearing those who disagree with them as evil.
Afghanistan is not the sole theater of battle and foreign policy.
awaiting further instructions from corporate state media.https://i.imgur.com/kEPqR41.png1. Biden was Vice President when he made those statements. He had no power to withdraw troops.
2. Go Google all the times Trump said we should leave Afghanistan. There's years worth of material. Trump initially increased our presence there. He had 4 years to withdraw and failed to do so.
3. When Trump extends wars or sends arms to conflicts in Yemen and Ukraine, he's given a pass by you. When Biden decides to leave Afghanistan, he's criticized because he isn't doing it fast enough, and because he's supported conflicts before(just as Trump has). The only standard is "orange man good, Democrats bad".
4. Lol @ you not quoting me again.
