But what he said is completely correct, Democrats are objectively better with the economy, markets, and economics in general, than their Republican counterparts, when it comes to growth and efficiency.

Obama is the only one to increase the debt in line with Republicans, and he's still barely higher than Regan but inherited a much worse economy.

Eh, I'd argue that stagflation was worse than the great recession. It's arguable though.

What we're looking at is political dysfunction over the course of the last 10-15 years, made far worse by an economic crash in 2008.

The consensus driven politics of the post-war era can't be credited to a single party, it was a system that worked while it lasted, but which needs to evolve into something new.
