He probably thinks that through international pressure (mainly financial) israel will crumble and will have no other choice than accept the reality which the world dictates.
I think the public here would prefer to blow the whole damn region up before that happens. Just my opinion.

he thinks imo, falsely, that the powers that be internationally want a #freepalestine. and many countries do not. many countries realize that, at least in gaza, being truly free will cause them to be a perpetual terrorist threat to israel and other nations. pre 10-7 they were in many ways free, they had a voted in govt, they had a blockade that mostly just removed rocket supplies and guns, and they had water and electricity supplied by israel.

it makes you ask, what then is freedom? zero blockade? that just changes how much rocket fuel you can get it. no water and electricity from israel? doesnt seem great. your own currency? it would be worthless.

the main positive is access to drilling offshore inside of the international water line.

the international community doesnt want a "palestinian state" either.

did you forget that quickly?

how about we start from a more productive standpoint, answer this thought experiment:

-we live in an alternate universe, 10-7 never happened.
-the UN votes for statehood of "palestine", including the US and ALL members

1. what happens in the West Bank

2. what happens in Gaza

easy

Israel pulls out its military and colonizers, gives up its occupied land to its rightful owners and an international border is drawn between the West Bank/Gaza/ and Israel

Israel is currently occupying Gazans' water aquifers which has been a major concern as Israel really doesnt have much freshwater of their own, theyve been stealing water for decades and then turn around and limit who gets water and how much
Israel also collects VAT on any imports destined for Gaza/West Bank in order to pay for their electricity. Im sure something tenable could be worked out for both sides

these things will never happen though as Israel is run by ethno-fascist pigs

so, to piece together what you said, if the 10-7 attacks never happened the international community would have accepted Gaza as a country with Hamas (a terrorist organization) as it's govt? interesting.

as to "forgetting", i didnt forget (maybe you did) that the republicans voted over 100 times to "repeal obamacare" while Obama and his veto sat in office. it's easy to vote for things you know wont actually happen, it might be the easiest thing to vote for. you get to look good and you know it will have no real world consequences. this is what the international community did, over and over, knowing with a far right govt in Israel it meant nothing.

thats generally what statehood looks like, yes

for what its worth, the international community largely recognizes Israel's current administration as war criminals so theres that

tbh it sounds like you think palestine, specifically gaza, only has 1 thing standing between it an prosperous internationally recognized statehood. israel and it's US backing. that's not correct imo, and it's a common misconception of many people in the #freepalestine movement, but it does explain your posts pretty perfectly.

but really that's a game of what ifs, and speculation. the simpler question is to take it 1 step further. if israel 100% left gaza would hamas stop firing rockets into israel? according to hamas, no. hamas will never stop attacking israel, ever. again, per hamas. a message with far more legitimacy than a UN resolution.

Hamas is not a terrorist organization. It is a freedom fighting organization that wants to secure an existence of its people. Also the illegal blockade imposed on Gaza takes away its right to self determination. All hamas did on oct7 was show the world the true nature of Israel and what it really wanted this whole time: a final solution to the Palestinian question.

The real terrorists are on trial for genocide my boy. As it turns out, calling everyone amaleks and going on a dumb bombing campaign, dropping over 29 000 bombs on an open air prison and mostly killing women and children, isn't actually the best military strategy. Here's CNN calling the destruction of cemeteries/hospitals a warcrime and the other link is a un watch group calling Israel out for targeting women ( like terrorists)

There's no coherent rationale for "freedom fighters" to intentionally target civilians with kidnapping, torture, rape, and murder. You have to tie yourself into an abstract knot in order to justify that stuff.

But whether you, in your own mind, justify what happened or lie about what Hamas did, the response from Israel(and people who support the existence of the state of Israel) should be the same. Destroying Hamas.

The number of Palestinian civilians dying is unacceptable. I agree. And the moral blame is on Hamas. And the only just resolution to this war is for Hamas to be destroyed, so unfortunately Palestinian civilians will keep dying until that goal is met. Biden supports Israel, and so does Trump, so the crocodile tears from Europe don't really matter. Israel has the right to secure it's nation and it's in the process of doing that.

Oct 7 was the greatest military operation in modern history. The only direct targeting of civilians was done via the Hannibal directive by the idf. Until someone can post proof of the 40 beheaded babies or anything like that I remain skeptical that hamas killed/raped civilians, maybe if I get invited to gal gadots oct7 watch party I can view the evidence for myself.

I agree with you that Israel has the right to defend itself and destroy hamas, but it's clear as day now that this was never the intended goal and pushing gazans through rafah was always the plan. You are witnessing the complete and total destruction of Israel's international reputation in real time, all the while hamas grows in popularity as bona fide freedom fighters.
