I'm late to the party on this. Trump is a modern Gilgamesh, the mythical character who did great things and talked mass shit. Trump has always been vulgar, this isn't a surprise tbh, and I don't think it is a game changer. The guys distancing themselves from them on the GOP side are only doing it out of political pragmatism because HRC is going to win...she is a very strong candidate and it turns out Donald Trump is stronger than anybody in the Republican establishment individually. With somebody like Trump, who is a political unknown who appears to be healthy, this could just be the beginning of a political career, depending on how successful the HRC presidency is. His entering the ring and going so hard in itself is pretty amazing, he clobbered the Republican party and he might have pummeled Bernie Sanders when directly contrasted between one another. There is usually a big collective "meh" when a truly left option appears in a national election. I am most interested in seeing how the Republican party regroups and how strong it is after the election. I think it will hang in there but take a very populist turn in the House. Him saying this isn't a big deal, just between the types of things men say when they're together. We're savages lol.

Hillary Clinton is not a very strong political candidate. Donald Trump is a disastrous political candidate.

Exactly. She couldn't fend off a complete nobody surging past her despite refusing to use the far more effective negative campaign tactics she was unloading on him in 2008, and she nearly lots to a god damn commie
HRC is weak, trump is weaker, both are widely hated. She's not a very strong candidate

Couldn't agree more. She will be our next president because the GOP nominated the most disliked candidate in modern political history. If the GOP nominated someone even half-way competent, they might have won.

The fact that this was only a 2 point race a couple weeks ago is honestly pretty embarassing for her and the DNC. This election was handed to them on a silver platter.

She will be our next president because the GOP imploded 8 years ago and got taken over by nutwings. Having a terrible candidate put forward this year was inevitable. Waking up the racists and fearmongering created a lurching monstrosity that the RNC couldn't control, and that tea party turned and wrecked the party. What looked like it was at risk of total schism a few years ago now looks instead at total collapse as a political force. Its a serious possibility that the two party system in america will finally come to an end as a result of this shitshow. I don't know what our nations next whigs or no-nothings could be, but the RNC went from worry about being outbred and crowded out with incrementally shrinking demographics to instead wailing and gnashing of teeth as they eat their dead

That's not possible really. The GOP will just be a minority for a while until they start courting the center-left. Or, the GOP will be no more and we'll have another party that replaces them. Regardless, we will always have 2 major parties.
