Egypt is politically unstable, sure, but what better way to unite the country than a common enemy which threatens the whole country? Sectarian and ethnic conflict is different because it makes the soldiers unwilling to fight for the country as a whole, makes them not feel any commonality or sense of community with each other. You imho can't compare an ancient country like Egypt with artificial constructs like Syria, Iraq or all the African states which were drawn up on a map by colonial rulers without any regard for communities or historical rivalries.

But back then they have had russian aid and US didnt send support to israel right away we managed to push them both back Syrians and Egyptians before the first aircraft with aid we paid for btw landed.

People tend to forget that the aid goes both directions.
Of course that the US aid is a lot and much appreciated.. but it does have its cost from the Israeli perspective. Mostly regarding American influence on Israel policies (even if they say that they don’t demand anything, I don’t believe that they don’t influence a lot in that area) AND in the Israeli military export / import. We buy our “shit” strictly from the US and are not allowed to export to different countries like let’s say, China.
With all that being said, and that we do appreciate and want the support from the US, there is no vacuum. If the arms won’t come from the US they’ll come from somewhere else..
