See, that's the point: if these members of Congress refused to comply with the mask mandate in the House, I would agree that they're toddlers. But not when they refuse to go through a fucking metal detector.

Sounds like you're just a bitch, since you think a metal detector is some kind of attack on your dignity.

Like I said: every sane person understands the necessity of metal detectors in vulnerable settings where a ton of strangers are going in and out every day, like airports. But in Congress, you know every single person with access to the House or Senate floor, and you can reasonably expect them to not start massacring their fellow members of Congress.

Except they just incited an attack on that very building, so how far can they be trusted?
People at columbine knew dylan and eric too.

I already explained it. *sigh*
A metal detector implicitly alleges that the persons having to go through it might be dangerous criminals. But we're talking about members of Congress, their names and bios are known, they are the democratically elected representatives of hundreds of thousands of American voters, and members of the government. Insinuating that these people might be lunatics who are about to shoot up the place is indeed insulting and an attack on their dignity - and, by extension, also on the dignity of the American government itself.

Pretty weak sauce argument. Theyre doing all staff in the building. They should have more important things to do than birch about security after an attack.

United States Representatives not allowing themselves to be treated like criminals makes them... toddlers?

Not abiding by the rules of the institution they are members of for the protection of themselves and others makes them toddlers.

Same situation with people who refused to wear masks in the secure rooms, which perhaps resulted in multiple members getting COVID. Grown children.

Interview with Rex:

In an interview with Foreign Policy, Mr Tillerson said he sometimes struggled to catch Mr Trump’s attention, and that he changed tactics to engage the commander in chief in foreign affairs.

“I used to go into meetings with a list of four to five things I needed to talk to him about, and I quickly learned that if I got to three, it was a home run,” said Mr Tillerson, who admitted that reaching two topics with Mr Trump “was probably the best objective.”

Mr Tillerson said he started to take pictures and charts that allowed him to build-on certain topics with the president, and that “those seemed to hold his attention better.”

Those briefings included a combination of two bullet points, pictures and charts, that would attract the president’s interest. Otherwise, admitted Mr Tillerson, his conversations were “really hard”.

“If I could put a photo or a picture in front of him or a map or a piece of paper that had two big bullet points on it, he would focus on that, and I could build on that,” Mr Tillerson added.

He was fired by Mr Trump in March 2018 after a series of public fallouts between the pair, having reportedly referred to the president as a “moron”.

They were also said to have disagreed on a number of policy issues, such as the United States’ commitment to the Iran nuclear deal. The Trump administration would announce its withdrawal from the agreement two months after Mr Tillerson’s exit.

“His understanding of global events, his understanding of global history, his understanding of US history was really limited,” Mr Tillerson told Foreign Policy. “It’s really hard to have a conversation with someone who doesn’t even understand the concept for why we’re talking about this.”

Can you guys imagine working for someone that much less smart than you? Lol.

Mr Tillerson, who formerly headed Exxonmobil, went on to say “nothing worked out” with North Korea because Mr Trump met with Kim Jung-un, which he said “was one of the last straws”.

Similar remarks were used to describe Mr Trump’s actions towards Russia and China, to which Mr Tillerson added: “We’re in a worse place today than we were before he came in, and I didn’t think that was possible.”

their names and bios are known, that's how we know that there are now fucking q-anon believers in congress ffs. they ARE lunatics. i mean, it won't surprise anyone that you think that's normal, but for reasonable people, who live in reality, it's not...

I don't have to imagine. I got fired from my last job for getting into a fight with my manager about how to do a standard curve. Literally something I taught to chemistry 101 students and they were telling me to ignore the y-intercept.
