thats the funny thing, everyone says its complex, yet Israel continues to expand in the west bank, undermined Palestinian leadership, flattened gaza when it had other options, refuses to consider the two state solution and is, by any account, an apartheid state. so when you say the oppressed need to suck it up and not be violent, my counter claim is, those palestinian leaders not seeking violence were sidelined or removed by Israel therefore Israel im sorry, but its pretty simple to me. So a pathway to peace would be to recognize the palestinian authority and support it, and its quest for the two state solution.
from what i understand Israeli officials have said if the situation was reversed they would be just like the Palestinians.
I try to always look at this (and everything) from a logic standpoint.
is it logical for people who have been oppressed for nearly 100 years to accept ANY leadership that is supported by their oppressor? no. its not logical at all.
the reason the PA is as unpopular as it is in the west bank is because they're too closely aligned with Israel.
i dont think they need to suck it up and not be violent, that's too soft. they need to have a regime in place that forces non-violence for a period of time to try and reset sentiment towards peace.
keep in mind this is 100% in my posts under the lens of a 2 state solution, or likely a 3 state solution with a non-unified gaza and west bank. both independent vassal states to Saudis. or perhaps 1 to Qatar, based on recent geopolitics.
