Launching his own platform would have made a lot more sense before he completely discredited himself by spurring on an open coup. :wallbash:
Now, only the most irredeemable deplorables will be willing to follow him into his exile.

So half the Republican party?

It's almost like Hillary's comments about half of his supporters being deplorables was spot on....

Even if Trump opens a new platform after all this mess it's gonna be just another low effort attempt to swindle some money from his supporters. I don't believe this man stands for anything but himself.

Nah, not even close. This whole so-called "Trump cult" will crumple like soufflé. Once he no longer sits in the bully pulpit and is deplatformed on traditional social media, all that will be left of him is a bitter, grumpy, delusional old man who's going onto deranged rants and is tainted by the stench of being a loser.

The enthusiasm for Trump by his supporters was never about Trump, the actual person - it was always about his ability to act as a vessel onto which his supporters could project their dreams and hopes. Once he no longer is president, and no longer has a realistic path back to the White House in 2024, all of that will just fall apart.

One in five voters - including 45% of Republicans - approve of the storming of the Capitol building

As was Romney's 47% comment...
The problem with these types of comments is that they insult and reveal deep disdain for a huge chunk of the electorate. If you're running to win an election, you just cant do that. The only one who got away with something like that is Obama in 08 with his bitter clingers comment, but that was amidst a huge economic crisis and after a completely disastrous Republican presidency.

Let's wait and see. I stand by my prediction that Trump's following will quickly dissipate after he's out of office. Not within two weeks or so... but by the end of the summer, the Republican party and the overwhelming majority of its rank and file will have moved on from Donald Trump.

Except Romney's comment wasn't anywhere close to true. The 47% do pay taxes, just not federal income tax, and lower income white people who take the majority of welfare benefits tend to vote Republican, not Democrat.

The welfare queen voting Democrat is a super-racist stereotype he was feeding into with that comment.

So no, it's not the same, again you fall for obvious dog-whistles because you go out of your way to give the right wing the benefit of the doubt.

Its a poorly worded survey that doesn't distinguish peaceful protest from illegal protest.

You have to remember, we had 10 months of BLM/Antifa riots.

Hell, Portland, OR is STILL on fire.

We'll see. I definitely didn't foresee this type of insurrection and that was a game changer.

Supporters of President Trump have stormed the US Capitol to protest lawmakers certifying Joe Biden’s election victory. Based on what you have read or heard about this, do you support or oppose these actions?

Seems pretty straightforward to me..."stormed the US Capitol" is OBVIOUSLY fucking illegal.
