If young black scholars were being murdered by police out of racist hatred, it would be disgusting and appalling, but it just isn't true. Studies have demonstrated that police spending is one of the most efficient drivers of social welfare, if only because crime is so destructive to the same. You are blaming medicine treating symptoms for the underlying disease. The disease still requires a cure, but failing to treat the symptoms only makes the disease worse.
