not surprised u somehow read that to mean i dont like jews, or aren't sympathetic to them because of the holocaust. even tho that context isnt even applicable to what i wrote.
jews were victims of unspeakable horror, and were owed a new start and place to live in peaceful isolation. the mistake was making that a place people already lived, and violently displacing them in order to give jews that home.
Germany was at fault, and therefore germany should have been the place where land was displaced to make a new country.
You are completely ignoring the symbolic, religious and historical meaning of Jerusalem, the Temple Mount and the entire "Holy Land" for the Jewish people. You're also ignorant of the fact that the zionist movement predates the holocaust by decades.
The formation of the state of Israel was not an accident, not the result of some Western world leader opening an atlas, looking for a piece of seemingly empty land and saying "yep, that seems like a fine place to resettle them".
Also, immediately after the war, nobody knew that post-war Germany would be such a success. Few people at the time would have predicted that the de-nazification program would go so well and its young democracy turn out to be so stable right out of the gate. If you had told the Jewish holocaust survivors back in 1947 that they're supposed to live next door to the people who tried to exterminate them, they'd have told you to fight right off, lol...
