Even with the warhawks having a field day and war dominating the country's collective attention, Biden didn't get any rally at all. Naturally as with all drumbeats to war, Americans support a more aggressive stance, and in this case blame Biden for not being tough enough with Russia, not doing enough. Very low polling among democrats, with 43% saying he needs to be more militant, 56% saying he's done enough, that's pretty shit for his own party who poll at 77-22 approval for him.

On the Russia issue it's mostly a lack of understanding by the populace that causes that opinion.
Ask "should he put up a no-fly zone" and you get a majority saying yes
Once you tell them that a no-fly zone would almost certainly result in war between NATO and Russia, that number goes way way way down.
