But it might not be a complete loss for Democrats. Beto may have helped carry 3 close House races for Democrats in, and the party now has a young, rising star that will probably make some noise in the future.

he got closer than I thought, and most definitely was the x-factor to carry some house seats. and he has huge name recognition, social media presence, fundraising and has built a strong team of staffers and campaigners.

losing tonight's race but by a very narrow margin has always been the best case scenario for his presidential prospects, and that's how it has panned out.


imho, he'll be the 2020 democratic nominee.

It’ll be an interesting two years to see the house implode. They could use the house as a tool to try and uproot trump in 2020 with logical stops to trumps agenda. They won’t do that though. They’ll be a soundboard for all things anti-Trump.

if there was strong competition, i'd agree that its probably not beto's time yet. but they dont have really convincing, well-rounded candidates so far. Beto might be the most complete package so far.

Cabinet members have been forced to resign(Price, Pruitt) and others are being investigated(Zinke) without Democrats controlling anything. Dems will take over the intel and oversight committees, so Trump won't be able to get away with firing Mueller or crippling him with new lackeys appointed.

So we're looking at legitimate oversight of administration + conservative judges still getting through. Perfect world for IceMage.
