I apologize for my use of 'mediocre intellect' yesterday. I forgot to check this thread and realize how much work it would take to crawl up to mediocre.

Duffman provides some content & political discussion to this forum unlike you. Honestly i can't remember the last time you engaged in an actual political discussion. You go from thread to thread just name calling and dropping condescension on people that disagree with you. If you want to make someone feel stupid, inferior, or change their outlook do it by refuting their premises & conclusions not name calling.

here we have a story where one man's marriage was saved by price gouging when he was tasked by his wife with purchasing milk during a storm
in his own words he describes how the stores that hadn't raised the price of milk had been emptied and he was able to purchase milk at a store that had more than doubled it's price and he was happy to do so.
hopefully this serves as a valuable lesson to our resident pardians who insist price gouging is wrong and we can all get off the backs of those people down south selling crates of water for $100 each :o

I walked into Walmart and made a beeline for the dairy case only to find it empty. Walmart, too, had sold out of milk. It, too, didn’t increase the price of its milk, selling it for its normal price of $2.79 per gallon.

But wait! Next to this empty dairy case, I saw another dairy case with a sign taped to the door. Behind the door with the sign taped to it were dozens of gallons of milk.

What did the sign say? “The price of Maola Milk is temporarily $6.50/gallon.” That was more than double what Walmart normally charged. I happily grabbed a gallon from the case, paid for it, and made my way home.

meanwhile in germany freedom and liberty are under attack as a german police officer fined a man for insulting his lady's honor by farting in her presence

luckily the courts ruled in favour of freedom this time

A Berlin man was fined €900 for farting twice while he was undergoing a routine police identity check in February 2016. He appealed the fine in court on Tuesday.
The defendant, named only as Christoph S., reportedly 'cut the cheese' twice in the vicinity of a female officer. Her squad leader took this as an insult to his officer's honor and slapped Christoph with a huge fine, which he received only in February this year.

Christoph was not silent, but deadly in his defense of the right to break wind.

“It is one thing if the leader of a police unit sees his colleague’s honour as being injured by a fart. But it is quite another if prosecutors and the judiciary agree - that is a failure of the state,” said Christoph's lawyer Daniel Werner at the appeal hearing, as cited by Berliner Zeitung.

The trial was reportedly gone like the wind, as the judge threw the case out within a matter of minutes.

elsewhere in canada a man is facing a defamation lawsuit after posting a negative google review of a tech company
no word yet on the legality of the case but i'm hoping this gets drawn out into a hilarious legal battle

An Edmonton man who left a negative Google review about a local tech company has been threatened with a six-figure lawsuit if he doesn’t take down what he wrote.
David Dube gave a one-star review against TechPro Computer Solutions in Edmonton after he says the company failed to call him back when they said they would.
Shortly after, the company contacted him and told him that he would face a $150,000 defamation lawsuit if he didn’t take the review down.

“They made a commitment to call back in a certain amount of time...and they didn't do that," Dube told CTV Edmonton.
"If you don't follow through, you don't deserve a good rating."
A representative for TechPro Computer Solutions refused to provide an interview or a statement on the matter, but told CTV Edmonton they’re serious about the lawsuit and that Dube’s review is fake.

Upset with the male dominated misogyny at google an ex-google employee decided to form her own company and hire a shit load of women to fix the gender diversity problem in the tech field.

She admittedly passed on hiring more qualified men in order to hire women for the sake of meeting diversity quotas and was upset when she found at that deciding to hire someone based on what's between their legs just drags down the company's performance and she had to let them go once they started dragging the company down.

i'd like to hear what our resident pardians make of this story :o

This court case from indonesia centered on a legal dispute over a selfie taken by a monkey named Naruto. On the one side we had peta arguing that use of the photo infringed on the future hokage's rights under the copyright act while the defense argued that monkey's have no rights at all. The court ruled that the owner of the camera may keep 75% of all profits from the photo and will donate the remaining 25% to charities to help monkeys in Indonesia.

The case of the world's most litigious selfie has come to a close.

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) and photographer David Slater have reached a settlement in a dispute over who owns the rights to a selfie of a monkey.
The photograph was taken in 2011 by a 7-year-old crested macaque named Naruto.
Naruto took Slater's camera while he was on assignment in Indonesia and snapped a photograph of himself with it, court documents say.
The animal rights organization had argued that by republishing the photo Naturo's rights were being infringed.
