Vast majority of abortions are done very, very, early, I can tell you that as example in France 72% of abortions are done with drugs ("without intervention")
Then in EU the chosen delay is often around 10-15 weeks. Now seems that 85% of the american people would allow the right to abort, more or less freely.
I remember some republican state that diminished the delay to 10 weeks, the problem being these jerks were also putting the women in need in lines forcing them to wait.
Else 10 weeks would be ok too. Some other states have it way too late imo.
Heart beat means nothing, it's just a fool trickery: A real question could be: at wich age a fetus can survive outside...
What is the difference between an embryo, a fetus and a baby?
The main things to know:
The embryonic stage begins at fertilization and lasts eight weeks
The fetal stage is from the 10th week of pregnancy (if you count from the start of the last menstrual period) until birth
A rapid and complex transition occurs at birth from dependent fetus to independent newborn
The language we use to describe pregnancy and the development of the embryo or fetus is important. Unfortunately, language is now part of the fight for access to abortion
I am aware that abortion laws across the world are much stricter than the United States. I made a topic once with a map detailing the laws across Europe and North America.
Many like to argue different points of development. That is an understandable argument, I will still argue abortion is evil at any stage of pregnancy, including mere hours after the egg is fertilized.
The problem is that there are places in the United States where you can “abort” your child at any point before it is born, up to the minute you go into labor. There are many politicians who argue for the ability to do so, and there was a bill tried on the federal level allowing this (which failed to pass) which I also made a topic about.
There have been politicians going so far as supporting infanticide.
