yes the internet is great but also dangerous, there exists a lot of bad information out there that people use to justify their ways - good or bad. (not talking about you here, you seem decent)
Im not necessarily asking you to pass judgment but rather I am trying to establish some distinctions here.
its always interested me how many people claim to believe but dont practice the tenants of their religion and on the flip side, how few believers are actually practicing without needing to beat their chest about how great of a Christian (or insert another religion here) they are.
it doesn't make sense to me that someone can be a complete piece of shit their entire life but "repent" before they die and are subsequently saved, but a different person can lead a noble, "good" life and go to hell simply because they don't claim to believe in "God".
IMO, it seems the actual "practicing" part of Christianity mostly died a long time ago and now its mostly hypocrites that use their religion as a shield. I say this as someone who was born and raised Catholic.
Donald Trump is an interesting example because clearly (Im passing judgment here) he does not live by ANY of the Christian or Catholic tenants but evangelicals absolutely love him. how could a God-fearing, God-loving person support him when his actions, beliefs and words conflict with everything they claim to believe?
doesnt seem very Christian to me, IMHO
Donald Trump if he has a Christian testimony , I would have to watch it and see what his beliefs are.
Dear Donald Trump,
1. Do you believe that Jesus is the son of God?
2. Do you believe that Jesus came in the form of human flesh two thousand years ago and died on a cross for your sins ?
3. Do you believe you are a sinner that is in need of the blood of Christ for atonement?
4. Do you confess Jesus Christ to be the Lord of your life?
If he answers yes to all four questions and is subsequently baptised into a believing church, then unfortunately we have no choice but to give him the benefit of the doubt
We cannot see the destination of souls.
