He was notorious for it and the fact that you aren't even aware of it shows how little you actually know about the criticisms of the court. Scalia being chalk full of contradictions in his opinions is like entry level material on the subject as far as the modern supreme court goes.

If we made it so that you could no longer buy a gun in the us, so that you had to sell your guns back to the govt by law, and made it a life sentence to even be found in possession with a gun we'd still have to wait about 100 years before this is stopped.

we have more guns than people.

australia famous for it's gun buyback and firearm banning has a rate of about 15 guns per 100 people. even after the 1997 reform laws this hasn't fluctuated all that much. in the usa we have about 100 guns per 100 citizens, we dont have licenses to own and registration to even track them or where they are.

it's an issue i truly dont see a noteworthy fix to. we can do things to try and reduce the severity of these events, but we can't stop it at all. not legally or even logically. we can do things to make it worse of course, and have.
