You really should try to identify what that source is and then go through the process of fact checking everything they said to you, so that for your own information you know what the truth is.
Well, at some point in your life, you may realize that you want to work towards a better society for future generations to live in. I did and although I agree that they are difficult processes, I'm not sure that I would want them to be easy processes either, because then the laws would just wildly shift back and forth every election.
