People like Goomshill, or Endlesssky, or other PaRD regulars, are going(or already have) to try to justify Trump's attempt at stealing the 2020 election. And they'll do so because the need to win politically far outweighs the need to be ethical. The small win they get far outweighs, for them, the need to accurately represent the voters. They are just part of the game, and they take pride in being a small part of the manipulation. A small part in this unethical manipulation makes sense, because of some grandiose reasoning based on politicians in the minority.

People say things you disagree with, so you need to invent one contrived crusade after another in an attempt to weaponize the law against people who haven't broken it. Whether its a president or opposition journalist or just average joe at a political rally. And even after it falls apart time after time and is exposed as a partisan hoax, you'd gladly ride the next contrivance even if it means driving a schism into our republic and delegitimizing our democracy. The wanton authoritarians willing to undermine the institution.
