My proposal: why don't we mandate by law that abortion providers have to tell the woman seeking abortion that what she is considering doing is the murder of her own young? If she still decides to go ahead with it, no problem. This way, woman's bodily autonomy is upheld. And women who see nothing wrong with murdering her young don't give birth, whereas women who have the morality in them to not murder their unborn have their genes passed on. This is good for our gene pool.
I personally believe that abortion is indeed murder, however, it's a very special sub-type of murder. The entity being murdered is usually incapable of feeling pain. It doesn't have family or friends who would be hurt by its death. Pretty much all of the societal and psychological impacts of murder do not apply in the case of abortion.
I know that it's bad and unethical that some women choose to have abortion for trivial reasons. For example, they don't want to sacrifice their careers, or "it's not the right time". However, I feel that forcing women to have a child that they don't want really does more harm than good. The child that would be born will most likely not receive adequate love and care. He/she might live a very financially deprived life. I feel that we shouldn't just bring life into the world for the sake of it. We should consider whether life would be worth living for the children that we insist on having.
