what sex is in reality is mostly a diversion from the implications of one's answer. i care less about what you think a male is than what you think a "male" should legally be allowed to do, as does most everyone. yet we somehow resort back to semantics that have very little to do with who can and cant legally demand their genitals get waxed at a salon that only provides those services to females.

Taking the upper end of your range and dividing it by 7 billion we get a rate of .00005714285 or around 5 people per 100k at MAX.

Again that's not a category, that's a genetic abnormality that's not representative of 99.99% of humanity so to reclassify sexes based on this is nonsensical. I mean lets be honest in what's driving this, because we know it's not science but societal pressures.

A category has no need to represent any particular segment of the population.

These people have existed as categories in science for as long as humans have been examined and classified. It is literally you trying to rewrite text books that have had these people in them for as long as the text books have existed.

So what's the purpose of a category then?

I think he meant that abnormality does not constitute a legitimate category and therefore there is no spectrum.

Because beyond semantic arguments there's no real substance. Virtually nobody is on the side of the lawsuite hustling transgender person who tries to sue somebody for not waxing genitals she wasn't trained to wax.

Once you get past the semantics it's just about cruelty. Trans men in women's sports aren't a big issue. They are just being used as a stand-in to be cruel to trans people, same as the bathroom issue was, and as the "all gays are pedophiles" issue was for them.

Not true. Some of us care about women and fairness in sports.

isnt the core of this entire issue the expansion of trans rights? sports gets headlines, as do silly ineffectual laws in southern states that amount to nothing. but there are still very real questions about not only legal rights, but also if we as a society should brand people with very negative labels based on their level of acceptance of trans narratives around trans identity. on a more topical level should we tell all public school children that dont understand statistics about trans identity even though only 1/100,000 or w/e people are trans, or should we let councilors try and identify people who are trans and handle these issues behind closed doors.

pendulums rarely swing from bigotry to dead center, i dont think we've gotten into lala land in most cases, but the resistance to that swing isn't entirely bigoted ben shapiro fanboys either.

false, if a man removes both arms and legs he is a fair match in a woman's competition.

It's on the outer edge of a Bell curve distribution to be sure, but it's enough of a sample to be considered part of a spectrum, even if the classical M/F group makes up the vast majority of it.

What discussion are you wanting to have?

So what would you describe somebody with male chromosomes who is born immune to androgens and so they develop female genitalia and internal testicals?

Isn't that hermaphrodite in a sense? If not, no idea of the wording.
