I think if populists had some form of intellectualism attached to it and didn't have such shitty foreign policy, they'd be a lot more popular. I supported LePen the previous election but she was an unacceptable choice this time around. If she had threatened to be extremely aggressive towards Russia by sending troops into Ukraine or something along those lines, I would have supported her.
Are you trolling or serious? From what I can gather about your political leanings and worldview, Macron is pretty much the dream candidate for you:
A deeply neoliberal, centrist to center-right politician who is staunchly pro-globalization, favors a pro-active foreign policy, empowers technocrats and loves to fuck the poor.

The young went for LePen, the old and non French went for Macron. That's why the Left needs to continue to import African vote slaves, to plan for the future as French boomer retards finally die off.
That's an extremely misleading take on the election. Far-left populist Jean-Luc Mélenchon won the youth vote by a decent margin in the first round. He was basically the French equivalent of Bernie. His voters, the French Bernie bros if you will, found both Macron and Le Pen extremely unappealing, so that a ton of them stayed home in the runoff.
Yes, Macron trailed Le Pen marginally among young voters in the first round, but the young supporters of Mélenchon and other candidates who actually bothered to show up for the runoff overwhelmingly broke in Macron's favor, so that he won voters 18-24 by a 61-39 margin in the runoff, his second best age bracket behind seniors.
