scripture tell us as much
"Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I."
"And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?"
jesus according to the bible in it's interpretation implied that one should be glad he was going to die yet he was not so glad on the 9th hour. So is it contradiction, bad editing, interpretation or really showing that there's a time for everything and that the refinement or perfection of good, even in faith, is still a process which God partakes in?
So remember the context, which means all have sinned but this does not mean that all have only sinned or nobody has ever sought God, it's a reference to the lack of total purity in those endeavors as humans, which only applies to humans

"The book is dead but the spirit is living" means make sure to be the living embodiment of those sources of truth instead of just quoting them like even the black churches do, just a friendly reminder jesus didn't walk around w/ a bible and he said "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do".
the bible is a foundation to build upon and reproof faith but it's not a replacement for living testimony or replacement for the holy spirit which is what worked through men to write scripture if not christ or YHWH.
