If it was under US control the US would work harder to protect a very strategic asset imo.

Like Russia is working hard to maintain control of a very important strategic asset.

Now that makes sense. But the US is not.

Not visibly. America is the most capable power in history of working behind the scenes though. They are grand master level. I give them full credit on that. Noone can match America toe to toe on a neutral ground militarily, and noone can outplay them on regime change behind the scenes either. But for all their success at it, they let their hand slip too many times and everyone saw the stack of aces up their sleeve.

You're now going from "sovereign nations" to "democracy" you're moving the goalposts by a country mile lol

No I'm not, I said Democracy. Of course the US declared war; Liberal presidents won two world wars, a civil war, and a revolution to start it all.

Paranoia. The people are fighting to stay away from the terrors of their past. My wife is from Ukraine. For once the US and EU are in the right and people harbor so much hatred that they are blind to that fact.

I myself hate the US government. As a Native I personally can’t fully support a government that still commits genocide daily but from what my wife has told me (who I trust a hell of a lot more than any government or some random online person) the majority of people in Ukraine don’t want to be part of Russia.

Well they voted on it and even overthrew a puppet government elected through campaigned ran by Paul Manafort and Robert Gates.

It seems that all ya'all forget who's in power while all this is being allowed to happen.

When the right was in power, Russia wasn't messing around with anyone. But I guess this isn't the 1st time the left has ignored the blatantly obvious. LOL

I personally support Ukrainian independence and would seek to have Russia return home, and pay massive reparations to Ukraine. But I want my neice and nephews to grow up, not get melted in nuclear fire. This isn't Iraq or Afghanistan, or even North Korea. This is Russia. Russia has as big an ego as the US does, and a lot more fear. And nukes. More nukes than anyone including the US. The escalation of threats and recriminations will only lead to one result.

which are the war crimes?

there is no legitimacy in this war, but the russian army has yet to commit war crimes.

lets remember when USA bombed a chinese war hospital killing dozens and that was not considered a war crime.
