They also enforce union busting laws, have stronger social safety nets, and right to work would be an absolutely crazy stance in the ones we'd want to emulate.

If we just eliminated minimum wage in our country with the current set of laws around unions it would make everything worse, and the balance wouldn't even be close.



As for Florida specifically, I find it hilarious that Republicans, the party of "liberals think they know better than you" is directly contradicting what their voters wanted because they think they know better.

I've done a wide range of jobs as a youth and each paid vastly differently. Working fields of barriers was based on flats. Pick a flat get a ticket, turn tickets in at the end of the day for cash.

Fastfood. Minimum wage flipping burgers.

Climbing telephone poles doing installation and rapair. 23 an hour 34.50 on weekends. Easily cleared 20k a summer and paid for much of my university.

I bet you all those jobs are paying a premium right now since everyone in Canada is claiming CERB.

I thought I was always compensated correctly for what I was doing but I was a kid. As an adult I'd deal with exactly zero shit over the counter for minamim wage at a fast food restaurant. I have empathy for those that do.
