You literally said
"Wages have gone up over 20% in the past five years in this state. This means I have say 20% less money going towards the same number of man hours."
Meaning the labor budget hasn't increased.
Based on a five year trend. You can use your big words to sound smart on paper but you wouldn’t have a clue how to deal with real world situations. I get it, you are a scientist and feel like you can control everything. That is not what corporate work is like at all.
How about instead of trying to tell me I am wrong, which I am absolutely not, you can add this real world situation into your equation. I am not going to put it in some scientific literature for you to analyze, you are just going to have to listen to another human being saying “this is reality”.
Minimum wage increases means less man hours. Which equates into lost jobs. It is so simple to people who don’t work for state funded institutions with a virtually unlimited budget.
When you work in fast food where wages are even higher, you don’t get 40 hours. When you work for any regular business, the people at the top (office) and the people at the top of the store level (me) are taken care of. Everybody else is absolutely fucking expendable and it is dog eat dog for them. That shit has life altering consequences that somebody in your position just wouldn’t understand.
