They had no way of knowing he's on a crime spree. If you murder a random person and it turns out they were a rapist that doesn't mean you don't get in trouble for murdering a random person
I dont think you are getting what the difference is in our stances. I never said anything about killing random people. That makes you a criminal and you shouldn't get away with it.
The biggest difference between our view points are that I am arguing from the side of the victims while you are arguing from the side of criminals who got caught and somehow became the victim.
I get that you think my punishments are too harsh but there is a reason for that. If a criminal gets killed committing a crime(and no, jogging isn't a crime but running from the scene of the crime isn't jogging either) and you blame the people who stopped the crime instead of the criminal then crime will only get worse. Looks at the places in CA where they decriminalized stealing under a thousand dollars or something like that. Crime is now out of control but its not reflected in the numbers. Stores are closing down for good and some changing hours just to avoid having groups of looters come in and take everything. Antifa and blm burned down neighborhood and murdered over 40 people and were defended by half the country. They got worse.
Crimes require punishment. Since criminal sympathizers like you and many here keep demonizing good people stopping criminals while also defending the criminals right to commit crimes then people like me need to go the other direction and as hard as possible to try to counter the insanity you're offering.
If you want people like me to not shoot the criminals then you need to stop letting them get away with comminting crimes. It's that simple. Balls in your court. Either stop taking the side of the criminals or keep dealing with people like me who are willing to stop the criminals you refuse to
