Guess you didn't read the article. They were French experts doing the judging in France. Your own experts have said for longer than your entire life that California wine is superior.

Impressive. Since you think there is a consensus for covid vaccine I ain't suprised you also think there is a worldwide consensus on wine lmao

Dude, our Reinheitsgebot (purity law for beer) is the reason we have the best beer in the world! B)

Large parts of American food culture literally consist of aimlessly throwing together the ethnic food of the various people who came to the US over time.

Czech beer is outstanding in this regard. Never got a hangover from it, no matter how much we drank during our stay in Prague (which was A LOT).
Czech beer might perhaps be even purer than German beer. (The taste is a tiny bit worse though, but it's still superb beer all things considered.)

i prefer a good dark stout or two normally, but there's something about 90 degree heat, fireworks, grilling bratwurst, and America's birthday that has me drink most of a 12 pack every year of COLD watery beer.

i also would never claim american micro breweries can hold a candle to 400 year old bavarian dynasties, but when i can get a 6 pack of something local for cheaper than imported German beer im gonna take the local stuff every time. especially as ive walked through or worked with most of them. nothing like drinking a beer you helped manufacture.

Another fun fact. Virtually all of your grapes came from Missouri since a blight wiped out virtually all French grapes in the 1800s

i told my wife i was going to get a small cabinet smoker, and she sarcastically said "oh another hobby" and instead a new grill showed up on father's day. 3 burner gas with an external view thermometer. so ill stick to grilling for now. but all the men in my family have big ass trailer smokers, so its inevitable.

i started with the kamado, good way to move into smoking. it was quite fun getting the temperature lined up right and then just checking on it every hour or so. next up is rotisserie chicken and then ill be doing wings as much as i can get away with lmao

only problem is it's a long affair, takes 30+ mins to heat up fully, even just using charcoal (smoking takes way longer to get the wood burning nicely and not just billowing). you definitely smell like smoke for a day even after showering (nothing even close to how bad one smells with a campfire or cigarettes though), and the thing takes 4 hours to cool down no matter what. fortunately its weather immune other than massive hail or a hurricane, so if it rains (mines semi covered by the roof) its no problem

I worked in a smokehouse in college over summers but we had a big ass industrial smoker that held like 5 briskets, 10 butts, 6 chickens, whole rack of brats, etc all at once. the idea of a small one that takes a lot of tinkering is exactly what i want!
