pre MRNA vaccines for c19, MRNA vaccines didnt exist. now they do, and hundreds of millions have gotten them, so they were added.

And the definition of computer was changed when we made machines that did computations for us.

Definitions change as technology changes. mRNA vaccines result in the same immunity as other vaccine technologies (and the evidence so far is actually showing better immune response). So why would you make a new word for it?
