She didnt work her way to the senate either, she was appointed to the vacant seat by governor Kemp. And the main reason he picked her for this nomination was her ability to self-fund. The logic was that a cash-strapped GOP didnt want to shoulder another potentially expensive Senate race. So no, I'm not minimizing her accomplishments out of sinister misogyny, she really didnt "earn" her current position.

Why can she self-fund vs another Republican? Why not just her husband then?

I don't know much about her, but I assume she has a degree, a career, works hard, isn't a newcomer to be able to compete in a statewide election. Georgia is about the size of Deutchland.

She has a pretty face and that helps for sure. Not a lot of models in the senate though so it might not help much.
