Thats great, really. But once the most susceptible are vaccinated, weekly caseload wont matter.

In order to get it to that point you basically need to get everybody over 35 with comorbidities vaccinated, which is most of the population.

Answered yes because I was prepared to get the vaccine. But now that I've had the virus, I'll leave the doses for someone else.

The statistics are quite clear though. If 99.5% of the population survives, The most efficient path is to vaccinate that other 0.5%. Anywhere past that gives diminishing returns. I think well be fine at 30% of the population.

The anti-vax is strong here. So many people against it and saying things like "they haven't cured cancer how did they cure this so fast". That is a direct quote by the way.

I then remember that I am in a place with a sub 50% high school completion rate, and it makes perfect sense.

I'm not someone who visits this site much. Certainly don't visit this subforum much.
But I have a PHD. When I read certain posts on here I question a lot of things.
The three questions that came to mind while reading the 84 posts on this thread are...
Do people actually know the difference between a virus, bacteria and a disease?
Are people aware the classification of Covid19?
Statistically how have mankind's vaccines performed against viruses in the past?

Ill take it when the time comes. By the time avg person gets it there will have been months to see how it goes with others so if there are no crazy issues that come up between now and then ill take it for sure.

Once again you are relying on an incomplete data set to draw your conclusions.

The 0.5% that would die are not specifically targetable with the vaccine as the highest risk group are immunocompromised individuals, and the remainder are not targetable because they are spread across other populations at random. You can't pick out the 50 year olds with heart disease that will die from Covid so your only option is to vaccinate all of them, which turns out to be millions of people.

Yeah, we need to start with highest risk groups that can be vaccinated, but until we have herd immunity it will not be sufficient to protect them.

PhD in what is of some relevance

1. Are you implying an effective vaccine against a virus does not exist?
2. Furthermore are you implying that the 95% effectiveness rate is false or fake?

What my PHD is in has no relevance. It's in psychology if you must know.
The only reason why I mentioned it is because I saw a post attacking the education of some for no reason.

The only thing I implied is that over the history of mankind vaccines, they've shown to be an imperfect science.
Care to answer my questions with something other than questions of your own?
