Kamala Harris did better than Tim Kaine did. Tim Kaine vs Mike Pence was like watching someone get fed into a woodchipper and not looking away. Kamala Harris didn't self-destruct or break down or blather incoherently or come off looking completely incompetent, but she did do everything she could to alienate swing voters and crucial demographics that democrats need to win by falling right into Pence casting her as a liberal activist out to destroy jobs with a radical agenda. The moralizing, emphatic shrieking that appeals to Californian voters doesn't win you blue collar folks in the heartland and industry. She had the opportunity to parry blows attacking her green new deal advocacy and talk about bringing back the jobs lost to the pandemic, but instead she just kept repeating that Joe won't ban fracking even as Pence quotes her saying she'd ban fracking and Joe would too. At best it makes her look like a hypocrite who is only muzzled now that Joe is telling her what positions she's allowed to hold, but it looks even more like naked flip flopping.

Nobody who pays attention even the tiniest bit thinks Joe is going to be some Antifa SJW Cuck, and a good amount of the country would actually love it if he pushed for real left positions since virtually every left position is now incredibly popular.

Kamala Harris's job tonight was to not let Pence get to shape the impressions of her. And she failed. She leaned hard into the Antifa SJW Cuck identity and failed to parry Pence's canned lines tying her to an ultra liberal agenda.
It could have gone much worse for her, and nobody expected her to actually beat Pence. With a better response to questions on fracking and packing the supreme court and vaccines, she could have.

I don't get it... what's she supposed to say to the fracking questions? She had a minute to respond to 10 things Pence throws at her... and she focused on denying the fracking bit, an important issue in states Biden needs.

Pence pretty much dodged the healthcare questions, embraced his anti-abortion stance, and ended the debate playing the Russia hoax grievance card. Appeals to the nutter base, but not to the Obama-Trump voters in the rust belt.

Something tells me you've never met an Obama-Trump voter. Based on how you deal with those in PaRD, relatively comfortable stating flat out you have no idea what appeals to us.
