Maybe you should repent, sinner.

my first sin in the catholic church was having parents who got divorced, im still having a hard time repenting 25 years later.

a catholic man would never shake a woman's hand, he's call her sweetie then demand she bare him a son with the seed he bestowed upon her, if god wills it. then he'd gossip about the congregation.

on a semi serious note ive had a theory for a while that because Catholics take communion every week, rather than just special occasions compared to sects like Methodists (easter, christmas, etc) they're more open to sin in the form of judgement of others. i've never met a non-snooty catholic in my life and i know dozens. all judgy fuck faces.

That's interesting. Catholics, in my experience are significantly more relaxed. It's the evangelicals and other protestant sects that are always harping on people. It probably varies by region.

being from Wisconsin the southern baptists and evangelicals were fairly rare. almost nonexistent.

it was mostly methodists, catholics, lutherans, and non denominational by me.

methodist, non denom = small congregations, very accepting
lutheran = medium congregation, fairly accepting, sometimes snooty
catholics = snooty large congregation largely going to church out of habit

in my home town the catholic priest owned a mustang AND corvette, i could never get past that distaste. my wife's fam is catholic now and the church is half full most sundays, but so overpacked on easter/christmast/ash wednesday that they open up to banquet halls for seating with a projection TV and folding chairs. most leave after communion even tho there's about 20 mins left of the service.

Try the 12 AM mass and you'll get a seat and a shorter service.

no need, i only go catholic on holidays because her family likes us there.

about 5 blocks from my house is an early 1900's brick methodist church we can walk to on sunday mornings, light on regurgitating scripture, heavy on real talks about life many people might not even realize are religious, lots of singing, and coffee/koolaid and lemon bar social afterwards. female pastor who's cool as heck, and u can miss 6 months and no one will give u a side eye they're just happy you're back. lots of bake sales, food drives, and clothing donations. best church ive ever been to tbh and the congregation is about 30.
