I don't think most people would rather play games and have fun rather than produce anything. Even in their free time usually people are building something, be it maintaining their house, a yard, running local organizations, etc. People usually don't sit idle for very long.

It's almost like neither system is optimal, and we should be like Germany or Norway where we take the best parts of both for the greatest good of the most people.
